Consumers for Affordable Health Care advocates for Maine people to be heard, respected, and well-served in a health system that provides coverage, access and quality, affordable care to all. They envision a Maine where all have the right to a healthy and financially secure future that is not threatened by the cost of health care.


DEFEND OUR HEALTH

Prevent Harm works to prevent harm to Maine families from toxic chemicals in everyday life by getting toxic chemicals out of everyday products – and toxic leadership out of the State House in Augusta.


Emerge Maine

Emerge Maine is changing the face of Maine politics by recruiting, training, and inspiring Democratic women to run for office.  Their intensive, cohort-based six-month training program is unique. Emerge makes a long-term investment in Maine Democratic women candidates by building their leadership skills and providing extensive campaign training.  As an organization, Emerge is committed to increasing the number of Democratic women in office, building a strong network of dedicated women leaders, and creating a pipeline of Maine Democratic candidates at all levels of government.


EqualityMaine

EqualityMaine is the oldest and largest statewide organization dedicated to creating a fair and just society for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Mainers. Their mission is to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Maine through political action, community organizing, education, and collaboration. They envision the day when lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons and their families have full equality in the hearts and minds of Maine people and in all areas of the law.


Grow Smart Maine

The mission of GrowSmart Maine is to build lasting prosperity without sacrificing the quality of life that defines Maine. People choose to live in Maine for many reasons: our iconic landscapes and architecture, our strong sense of local community and our gritty, independent spirit. GrowSmart Maine seeks to protect and foster these strengths because they believe they are the foundation for lasting prosperity. Our goals are community revitalization, conservation of farmland, forest and shoreland, and support for sustainable economic development that will benefit not just today’s Mainers but our children and grandchildren. As the ONLY statewide organization linking ALL these interrelated goals, GrowSmart Maine works with myriad other organizations and municipalities to convene discussion and take actions to revitalize our communities and economy while protecting our natural resources. 


League of Women Voters OF MAINE

The League of Women Voters of Maine is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. They do not support or oppose any political party or candidate.


Maine AFL-CIO

The Maine AFL-CIO is a state federation of over 160 local labor unions representing over 40,000 working men and women and retirees across the state.  They work to improve the lives and working conditions of their members and all workers in the state.  They are dedicated to represent the interests of working people at the state and local level. They mobilize their members and community partners to advocate for social and economic justice and they strive daily to vanquish oppression and make our communities better for all people—regardless of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or ethnic or national origin.


Maine Audubon Society

Maine Audubon works to conserve Maine's wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people of all ages in education, conservation, and action. Their approach to helping the people of Maine become more informed, effective stewards of the state’s wildlife and habitat focuses on three primary areas: Conservation Projects, Environmental Education, and Policy and Advocacy.


Maine Center for Economic Policy

The Maine Center for Economic Policy is a nonpartisan research and policy organization dedicated to improving the economic well-being of low- and moderate-income Mainers. For 20 years, the Maine Center for Economic Policy has been helping to secure improved economic opportunity for working families by advocating for fairer tax policies, for access to education, health care, and livable wage jobs, and for critical investment in government programs and services on which Maine people rely.


Maine Equal Justice PARTNERS

Maine Equal Justice Partners (MEJP) is a nonprofit legal aid provider, whose mission is to find solutions to poverty and improve the lives of people with low income in Maine. They advocate for fair public policies in the legislature and with governmental agencies, provide direct legal services and representation through impact litigation on systemic issues, and partner with diverse low-income communities and agencies through outreach, organizing, and education. 


Maine Conservation Voters

Maine Conservation Voters cultivates and uses political power to conserve and protect Maine's environment. MCV helps pass laws that protect our environmental legacy, elects pro-environment candidates to office, and holds our elected officials accountable, without regard to political party.


Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association

MOFGA monitors bills and related public hearings at the Maine Legislature, and follows discussions and rule making developments at the Board of Pesticides Control. They post position statements and action alerts accordingly.


Maine People's Alliance

MPA's purpose is to bring individuals and organizations together to realize shared goals. They focus on leadership development to increase the number of citizen leaders prepared to work for positive social change. They are known for their ability to do grassroots organizing and education that reaches more than 100,000 Mainers each year with direct personal contact and quality leadership development work that has yielded dozens of leaders and staff for MPA and other organizations.


Maine Public Health Organization

The purpose of the Maine Public Health Association is to foster, expand, improve, and recognize efforts to better the health of all people in Maine through health promotion and protection, disease prevention, and public policy. MPHA implements the following strategies to achieve its mission: provide leadership in public health; provide a forum to advance local, state and federal public health issues and policy; promote and assist with public health training and education; and recognize model programs and public health leaders in Maine.


Maine Women's Lobby

Their goal is to increase economic, social, and political opportunities for women and girls through public policy and leadership development. They are following 400 bills! But their priorities center on issues that make for safe, healthy, and prosperous families: family-friendly workplace policies, livable wages, access to health care, ending discrimination, protecting women from violence.


Natural Resources Council of Maine

The Natural Resources Council of Maine is a nonprofit membership organization protecting, restoring, and conserving Maine’s environment, now and for future generations. For more than 50 years, the Natural Resources Council of Maine has been protecting the places and way of life that make Maine so special. We work to—protect the health of Maine’s rivers, lakes, and wetlands; reduce the amount and toxicity of waste to conserve natural resources and stop toxic pollution; set Maine on a path to a prosperous sustainable energy future, without climate-changing pollution; and conserve Maine’s woods, wilderness, and wildlife. NRCM harnesses the power of the law, science, and the voices of more than 20,000 supporters statewide and beyond.
